When we see patterns, we are looking at them but not observing them, not engaging directly with what is happening, but we are trying to find some sort of link or meaning with genuine curiosity.
We therefore become part of a process of engagement: a slowing down in time, giving the chance for other meanings emerge. By doing this, we can establish a relation that permits us to undergo real contemplation.
Just as the breeze touches our ears and makes them cold, the sound of the rain on the observing and feeling textures on different surfaces makes us aware of the moment, aware of the precise present. This embodies a sadness of the fleeting, the ephemeral.
Events that might happen at one single time not able to return, impermanent of what we are attending, this can embodies a melancholy for the ephemeral, and at the same time staying there to be discovered.
We might find imperfections that can challenge our aesthetics; judgments of what should and shouldn’t be, but by accepting these aforementioned imperfections we can find a deeper meaning related to the true nature of life.
Our task is to observe without predetermined thinking, to leave behind preconceptions of reasoning and able to embrace what we are experiencing in the moment.

Carmworks is a handmade design studio based in Colombia, crafting objects that can encourage individuals to appreciate three simple universal realities: nothing lasts, nothing is complete and nothing is perfect.
From the self-aware treatment of the wood; looking to connect a narrative between people and the objects, by highlighting the process and the innate features of the material, a story that can be traced on all the information the piece embodies.
It uses an established language made by nature: the mountains, the waterfalls, the trees, the mist; each of these emerges in a language that is embraced as the soul of the pieces. The wood is considered to be a living source for transformation.
In a reality distorted by the digitization of the sensory experience, here exists the opportunity for new multi-sensory manifestations with the capacity to transcend the age of the internet by encouraging the appreciation of the process of nature and creation.
CarmWorks embraces heritage; by the respectful adoption of Colombian crafts, not to merely be a technique to be borrowed, but also a recognition of how our ancestors interpreted the universe, featured in the cosmology of our fabrics.
We are committed to creating elaborate, relevant pieces; establishing a dialogue within the awareness of ephemerality. As previously stated, we believe that nothing lasts, nothing is complete and nothing is perfect.
